Domestic students
Sheridan Student Union Health and Dental Plan
Full-time and part-time domestic students are automatically enrolled in the mandatory health coverage with Studentcare once per academic year.
The Sheridan Student Union Inc. (SSUI) Health and Dental Plan is a valuable service provided by the Sheridan Student Union to fill the gaps left by provincial health care. The Plan fee is $395.00 for full-year coverage (Sept. 1, 2025 – Aug. 31, 2026).
Students who are already covered by an extended health and dental plan and would like to opt out of the SSUI Health and Dental Plan must provide proof of other equivalent health and dental coverage. Opt-outs can ONLY be processed within the Change-of-Coverage period. Visit or call 289-835-3177 for details on opting out. The fee for the plan must be paid to Sheridan directly and if your opt-out is approved, any refund will be issued by Studentcare. The SSUI Health and Dental Plan is for domestic students only.

International students
Guard.me Health and Dental Plan
Full-time and part-time international students are automatically enrolled in the mandatory health coverage with Guard.me once per academic year.
For details on this coverage, visit . Health insurance coverage starts on the program start date (fees must be paid for coverage). Students who arrive in Canada earlier than their scheduled start date or extend their visit beyond the date of completion, it is their responsibility to ensure that they have adequate medical coverage. International students who drop to part-time status are still charged the full health insurance fee. Students should monitor their Sheridan email for any updates regarding their health insurance coverage.
